Food experience- Genghis Khan is not Mongolian food!

Geng, Geng, Genghis Khan (^3^)/(we have 'Genghis Khan' song.)

This is authentic Mongolian BBQ.

Japanese people are very familiar with mutton bbq called, 'Genghis Khan'. We even have hot-pan for this.
In Hokkaido(northern island), mutton bbq so-called Genghis Khan is very well known because of tons of lamb there. I belived that bbq comes from Mongolia because of its naming, however, my translator told me it is not correct.
He told me about an interesting story: one Chinese guy visited Mongolia, came across mongorian mutton bbq, had a flash of insite, and started their business of "Genghis Khan" in China or other asian countries first in a different way of Mongolian.... Now, 'Genghis Khan' bbq is popular in Japan because healthier than pork or meat.
Hence, local Monglian people never eat "Genghis Khan" we Japanese usually have. Of course, Mongolian people deeply respect Genghis Khan because of father of Monglian nations, so they never ever name 'food' by taking his name.
However, I saw 'Genghis Khan beer" and 'Genghis Khan vocca' in bar and some shops.
Seems like 'alcohol' is things of extra quality more than anything, vocca and beer are allowed to name 'Genghis Khan".

Ummmmm...I guess nobody know that in Japan (^^;

This soup is made of Mongolian bbq, which is mutton soup. Very very delicious, but oily(><)
Now you can tell how Monglian getting fatty like Asashoryu(mongolian famous sumo wrestler)

They will be.....

Food Experience - Mongolian food in City

After staying Gelu house, I came back to capital city, Ulaanbaatar. I found that Lamb is the most favorited food Mongolian people love.

This is famous soup which contains veggies and Lamb. Very delicious, and tasty, but little bit oily. This soup made of Lamb-tail.

This white one is 'Lamb-tail' which contails 100% fat!!! I can tell it makes Mongolian people fatty.

This looks like Udon is wide noodle. Seems like it is popular to contain this noodle inside soup.

This is called, 'Bozu' which looks like Chinese dumpling. This one is also fatty(><)
Guess how much are all dishes??
...less than $5!!
Should we move to Mongolia?!

Afterword...lots of oil remained on my plate. Seems like most Mongolian getting fat after past 30s. I can tell the reason.

Food experience - Mongolian local food (?o?)

I flew to Monglia after I had a lot of Authentic Beijing food in China. It is first time. Local Monglian people are very friendly and warm more than I expected.
First of all, they welcomed my visit by 'Banyusyu', which is Horse Milk Sake. This is the one I wanted have before!

Seems like it is fermeted for a couple of months after they took horse milke . Taste was....toooooo sour(><). Some people cannot have one, but I was able to do. I guess we are not just familiar with that kind of sour taste, especially, 'Horse Milk'. People fermeted in here:
This is butter, which is also made of 'Horse Milk'. Tast is almost the same as one made of Cow Milk, but much healthier, I think.

Lamb is the most favorite meat people have usually. Since there is no rifregerator in Gelu house, they smoke or dry them inside.

I love this shot.

Host grand-father in this Geru house is very dignified, but gentle. Mongolian family honor their Host very much, which reminds me of old-days in Japan... He is around 70, but looks so handsome while he rides on his white house like jockey.
There is a hole which is figured like sun at the top of roof in Geru House. Mongolian people belive that sun light from the roof make people inside happy, and good mentaly and spiritually. You can see shined 'Horse Milke' which reflects by sun light from top, and also how much he likes by his gentle eyes.

Enjoy some pictures which I took in Teleruji which is 40km from capital city, Ulanbaatar. Left horse is one I ride on!
